Carrots: Good for your health, and your skin!
The key ingredient in this mask is cold pressed carrot seed oil, which is high in vitamin A, a natural Retinol. When tinkering with this mask, I noticed the amazing fresh carrot smell coming from the oil, so I decided to add the juice of one organic carrot, giving it a beautiful orange color. This mask also contains lemon juice (vitamin C) as well as Vitamin E oil, making it antioxidant packed as well as super hydrating. The Rosemary Leaf Extract is not necessary, but if you don’t add it, it wont last more than a few days, refrigerated. Mine has been unrefrigerated for over a week now and still going strong! Heres how to make it.
Vitamin Rich Carrot Hydration Mask
2 Tbsp. Jojoba Oil
1 Tbsp. Shea Butter
1/2 tsp. Neem Honey
4 tsp. Emulsifying wax
3/4 tsp. Carrot Seed Oil
1/4 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
1/4 Rosemary Leaf Extract
1/4 tsp. Kaolin Clay
1/4 tsp. Yogurt Powder
Mix wax, oils, shea butter, and honey and double boil it over medium/low heat, stirring frequently until wax is melted and ingredients are completely combined. Remove from heat, add Rosemary Leaf Extract, carrot and lemon juice and stir until you have reached the consistency of body cream. Sift in yogurt powder and Kaolin slowly and stir, to prevent clumps. Use as much as you like after cleansing and before toning and moisturizing for hydration and an antioxidant boost!
