DIY Chocolate Antioxidant Mask
"Is chocolate bad for your skin?"
I get this question a lot. The answer is no, it's actually good for you!
Yes, you are reading this correctly, but listen, there is nothing bad about chocolate, it's the milk and the high amount of sugar that's going into your chocolate that's the problem. Cocao, a less processed version of cocoa, on its own is a mega-source of Antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. When choosing chocolate, the darker the better. That way you are getting the most benefits with the least amount of the bad stuff.
For this recipe, make sure you you are using the highest quality of cocoa powder. If possible, use cacao powder instead. This should be easily found at any health food store.
Chocolate Antioxidant Mask
- 1 Tbsp raw honey (Manuka Honey for best results)
- 1/2 Tbsp Coconut Milk
-1 tsp Cacao powder
Mix together to form a pancake batter-like paste. (If that consistency is not achieved, add more coconut milk or more Cacao as needed) Apply to clean skin and leave on 10-15 mins. Rinse. Tone and moisturize as usual.
