My Top 4 Skin Tips For Fall

As we enter into the fall season, there’s a lot more changing aside from the color of leaves and cooler weather. For many of us, our skin changes too. While the summer brings heat and humidity (our skin either loves it or hates it), in the fall our skin starts to get drier and needs a little more love. Now’s the time to amp up that skin routine, babe!

Here are my top tips on ways to ease your skin into fall:

Exfoliation

In the summer I tell my clients they can exfoliate less. This is because most of us get more sun exposure at this time. I recommend exfoliating 3 times a week either with a scrub/mechanical exfoliant or an enzyme exfoliant if you have active breakouts. Can you use both? If you do not have type 3-4 acne, absolutely. If using both, scrub first than enzyme mask.

Slather on the Moisture

After exfoliating, use hydrating toners, serums, moisturizers, and face oils to drape your skin in moisture.

Try a detox

Think of it as a seasonal cleaning. Especially if you have any sort of mysterious acne issues you still haven’t figured out, trying a gluten-free/dairy-free detox is a great place to start. You can learn a little more about food cleanses here.

Get a facial!

If it isn’t in your means to get the recommended monthly facial, now is the time to splurge. The absolute most important times to get facials are when the seasons change. A great esthetician can perform all the necessary extractions you need, or removal of impurities, giving your skin a clean slate for the months ahead. I always recommend a facial around the same time you start a detox.
